More often than I care to admit, I need to be reminded that aspects my son’s obnoxious behavior are caused by a factor outside of his control. That factor is Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD). It is easy to forget that his brain is operating at a capacity that has been irreversibly altered by his mother’s use of alcohol during her pregnancy.
I received an email invite today to a concert featuring the musical talents of Morgan Fawcett. His instruments are the Native American flute and his voice. He uses both to tell his story of living with FASD. He speaks of the challenges that he faces and the impact that music has had on his ability to cope with those challenges.
Morgan is using his experiences to affect the lives of those living with this man made disability. Enjoy.
